*Third Place* "Beth" Look Within by Sarah Lucas of North Hills, CA

This is Beth's face and rosy hairband.

Sarah was inspired to make this doll by then poem "Look Within" by Rebecca Grant/WhtDove: The Blue Rose, Springtime is a time when trees put forth new growth after a long winter's nap. Birds are nexting buds beginning to bloom and it is a rebirth of nature's wonders. After spring the summer shows all in grand splendor with all flowers and trees in full bloom. As Beth looked out on her beautiful Rose garden that had all colors of roses, red, pink, white she spotted of all things "a Blue Rose". She picked the beautiful rose and the following thoughts came to her mind. The rose was very different from the others, but seeing beauty in something that was unlike any other she sat daydreaming about the thought of what beauty lies within even tho itis very different from others in the garden. She knew it had bloomed especially so that one could see "all wonderful things come in different colors"

Beth is Sarah's own design.

Her shoes are grey suede!
