When Big Horn Quilts provided a list of songs by Elvis Presley to help with their challenge contest, I looked at the titles and "DO THE CLAM" immediately caught my eye. I found an internet site where I got the lyrics and listened to the melody, which is much like "Do the Twist". Having grown up and lived in Ipswich, Massachusetts for the first 22 years of my life, the clam and Crane Beach were part of my life. I have used 3 of the 5 fabrics provided in the challenge packet and also tried to keep my other fabrics and tones "beach-like" Some work is done on the machine, but much was done by hand, i.e. the clam shell pattern under the dancing clams. I guess I would describe it as "whimsical" and hope you, the viewers, enjoy it's spirit. |
