My husband, Greg, and I bought a 1974 MG Midget in October 2007. We named him Winston. I've wanted to enter a quilt challenge for a while. When I looked over the long list of Elvis songs, I saw (There's) No Room To Rhumba in a Sports Car! It all clicked! We had already determined that Winston was not a good car for making out, so this tune from the movie "Fun in Aculpoco" made a lot of sense to us. Greg had many suggestions and a lot of moral support as I sketched and stitched this labor of love. By the way, in case it isn't universally known, young couples often park near large bodies of water (or small) and wait for the 'submarine races' to start. If a few kisses are exchanged before they realize there are no races, that's fine. |
