Burning Love

By Mary Kay Davis of Sunnyvale, California

Artist's Statement:
I'm a little bit worried about this quilt. I think it may be cursed. While making "Burning Love" I couldn't get the thread to stop breaking. I changed needles, changed tension, re-wound bobbins. I also broke two needles in the process. Meanwhile, my favorite iron decided that it would steam no more. This all took place in my sewing room. The morning after sewing on the binding in the kitchen, the towel holder fell off the wall, dolly bolts and all, and my oven caught on fire. I had to get my husband out of bed to get the fire extinguisher. This gave a whole new meaning to "Burning Love"

The workmanship on this quilt is fantastic.

She used vareigated thread and metallic thread for quilting.

And embroidery thread! Her binding is black velvet.
