Buffalo Dance

By Linda MacDonald of Powell Wyoming

Linda's entry featured a sunburst design with a dancer in the center, surrounded by buffalo.

Her dancer is in silhouette

Even the tracks in the background carry the theme.

The circles give the feeling of time passing, seasons changing, years advancing.

BUFFALO DANCE

As the large herds of buffalo (bison) declined, the natives performed special dances to the gods to replenish this important source of food and shelter. I placed the buffalo dancer in the center and chose colors to represent the four seasons. The black Silhouettes represent the shadows of those now gone.
