Artists Statement
I made this doll using an 1840s Mary Ann doll pattern. After making her body from muslin, I painted the shoes and face. I dipped body parts in varnish. After they were dry, I sanded them and redipped them 2 more times. The miniature wedding ring quilt was a pattern I had made once before and thought it would go well with her. I croched the sewing basket from one of the challenge fabrics to complete her. This was a fun project for me as I've been wanting to make one of these dolls for a long time. |
